The Problem

For most of the space age, crew health ran on borrowed systems. Terrestrial medicine adapted on the fly, or tooling built for a single government program. That held when flights were rare and crews were small.

It does not hold now. Spaceflight is becoming commercial, frequent, and longer in duration. More operators are sending more people to orbit, and keeping them healthy is still treated as an afterthought.

The systems were built for where human spaceflight has been, not where it is going.

The Approach

For the first time ever, human physiology is the main barrier to economic growth in an industry.

Astrolabe is building the missing layer. Human infrastructure designed for space, not retrofitted from the ground.

We work from inside the industry, alongside the operators flying these missions. Our foundation is clinical medicine and the operational realities of flight. That is what lets us build for the crews going up, the people responsible for them, and the researchers learning from every mission.

The astrolabe let early explorers read the sky and find their way. Human spaceflight needs that kind of instrument now, one built to read the realities of space and keep the people inside it healthy.
